You’ve done the work to grow your list. But are you making the most of it?
I’ve been speaking with a lot of clients about their email marketing lately, and I’m noticing a big trend (and it’s not good).
In looking at a lot of campaigns that aren’t performing as well as the business owner hopes, I’m noticing a very common mistake.
In this video, I talk about that mistake (don’t worry, it’s really easy to fix).
The mistake that I am seeing is that people are only pitching their product one time (in one email throughout the campaign).
The campaign will go something like this:
Boost Sales Like You Have Magic Powers
Drop your email below to get the FREE 3-part guide to start boosting sales and freeing up time (some see results in days).
Email 1: Talk about the topic.
Email 2: Mention it again.
Email 3: Pitch product
End campaign.
First, this is a problem because we know that email open rates average only about 20%. This means that just 1 in 5 people are even seeing your pitch.
Second, typically people need more than one call to action before they will actually take action. Think about this in your own life – besides the most impulsive purchases, you probably need to hear about a product, service, app, or software a few times before you take the plunge and shell out the cash.
Your audience is the same. Bringing up your product more than once isn’t a hassle, it’s doing your due diligence. Prospects need their questions answered, their nerves calmed, and their interest up. This often takes more than one email.
Finally, your prospects might also need reminders. How many times have you mentally put something on your to-do list, then completely forgot about it ten seconds later (or am I the only one guilty of that)?
Offering up a reminder will help those who “meant to come back to this” have a chance to finish what they started earlier.

Fixing the problem is easy. Just add a few more emails to your campaign. Make sure to send out more than one pitch, and talk about your product during other emails so your prospects have plenty of opportunities to follow up on your offer.
To start, pick one of your campaigns. Go in and add at least one email to your campaign. As you create new campaigns, make sure to add additional pitches from the start. Then, enjoy a higher conversion and more revenue streaming into your biz.
Let me know in the comments: how many times do you pitch your products within an email campaign? Have any advice for people who want to improve their conversions? Would love to hear 🙂
